Hello all.
Firstly, I'm aware of the multiple threads on this very issue, but I cannot find a conclusion of my problem. I hope I've posted in the correct location.
My symptoms seems to vary a little, and it's likely something very basic that I've overlooked.
The problem (which was out of the blue);
My Apple TV 3's (varies across all 3 of my apple tv 3) does not display most TV show artwork and also a lot of Movie artwork. They display as grey thumbnails. However, on the GUI within my Windows PMS ver. 1.2.6.2975 shows everything just fine. I can however play the TV show or Movie in question.
- Another thing I've noticed, sometimes the sound will drop out, and it requires me to exit the movie/tv show and go back into it. Sometimes also the sound gets louder and softer. This in itself may or may not be the same problem.
Attempted fixes;
There was an update 1-2 nights ago (PMS 1.2.6.2975) that I installed, and it magically fixed everything until I rebooted my PMS (the PC itself).
I've deleted C:\Users\xxx\AppData ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Caches/com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb
and
\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Caches\com.plexapp.agents.themoviedb
Following this I did a force refresh. No change.
- I've deleted the libraries itself from the PMS and re-added them, no change.
This to me sounds like something is blocking the art getting to the Apple TV itself if that's possible.
I have 3 Apple TV 3s that have the same symptoms for the exact same TV shows or Movies.
One thing I do have is Norton 360. I attempted to disable my smart firewall as a test but no change. Could there be something like that or an ad blocker that's causing some issues here? What logs can I provide you for assistance? Reason I ask is I would suspect the logs would show everything's OK because the artwork is there on the PMS and I can play the Movies/TV shows OK. So I can provide exactly what you'd like to assist me.
If it's on benefit, I have 2 x QNAP NAS devices that hold my video data.
